Let go and let God fight your battles

When you are at peace, God will fight your battles

Romans 16:20; “The God of Peace will soon Crush Satan under your feet”

Through my trials, I learned that many things may come against us to try to get us upset (someone talking nastily to you, gossiping, degrading you, disrespecting you, etc.) they are all distractions. This is the enemy trying to lure us off course, to have us waste our valuable time & energy on things that really don’t matter. These are not our battles that we are suppose to fight, don’t give them the time of day and God will bring it under your feet. When your tempted to get upset, close your eyes and picture yourself leaning back-resting and putting your feet on top of that problem (my problem was my Ex, so I used to picture this). Tell God; It’s under my feet, I know you got this for me!

What I learned and gained from this verse and the next were so crucial to gaining power back. When a situation arose (vicious words, mocking, arguments) I learned to “Zip it”. It took me awhile to learn this, but better late than never. God placed this sermon in my path at just the right time. My testimony on how this worked for me. When I was being attacked with verbal abuse, rather than attacking back (yelling & crying). I would stand up, throw my arms up and proclaim “God, this one is yours” or “You got this God, Thank you for fighting this battle for me!” At first my Ex use to say “you are psycho, you need help”. Then as time went on and I continued to do this, on a rather daily basis, he got quieter and quieter and eventually just left me alone without coming after me. God certainly fought my battles!

2nd Samuel 22:4; “I call on the Lord, who is worthy to be praised and I am saved from my enemies”

We need to sing praises to God when the enemy tries to attack, it confuses them and Satan doesn’t like it either. This will leave them fighting with their own demons and in return we are delivered from the destruction.

My testimony on how this worked for me. When I was being attacked/abused, I sang praises on the top of my lungs (most of the time it was Amazing Grace). I would either start singing it right where I was or would walk away singing as loud as I could as I went in the bathroom/shower. A few times I had myself locked in the bathroom protecting myself, instead of crying at this point, I decided to sing praises. I truly was delivered, Satan stepped down!

We are not meant to fight our own battles. I encourage you to let go of your ways and let God be God in your life. He will fight your battles and you will gain control over the situation for once 🙂

Try it, Let Go and Let God!

2nd Samuel 22:40-41; You armed me with strength for battle, you have subdued my enemies under my feet. (41) You have made my enemies turn their back to me, that I might cut off those who hates me.
